Racht, M.D. is the Medical Director for the City of Austin / Travis County Emergency Medical Services Clinical Practice, a diverse group of Providers and agencies including the Austin Fire Department, Austin / Travis 911 Emergency Communications, Austin / Travis County Emergency Medical Services, Travis County Parks Department, STARFlight helicopter, Lower Colorado River Authority Rangers, Austin Aviation Police, fifteen volunteer first responder fire departments and EMS agencies and a Corporate Response Group made up of eighteen regional corporate response teams. Dr. Racht is active at the state and national level serving as the Chairperson of the Governor’s EMS & Trauma Advisory Council for the State of Texas as well as the Texas Affiliate Board of Directors of the American Heart Association. He has also been active in International EMS, serving as a consultant to the World Bank and as the American founder of the Vladivostok and Moscow, Russia EMS Training Centers. |

which is the nation's second busiest EMS provider. Dr. Eckstein
is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Keck School
of Medicine of University of Southern California, and the Director
of Prehospital Care at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern
California Medical Center. A former New York City paramedic, Dr.
Eckstein has over 20 years experience in EMS. He has published
numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and lectures
around the world on EMS and disaster preparedness topics. |
